Beverly Hills Facial Implants
Facial structure goes hand-in-hand with the confidence that is projected to the world. Strong, defined, and lifted facial contours often make a person look more confident than someone with an underdeveloped chin, weak jawline, sagging cheeks, or hollow temples.
Facial implants alter your facial contours by adding shape, volume, and prominence to your cheeks, jaw, chin, or temples. Dr. Diamond offers a comprehensive selection of facial implants, including customized implants that are created to match your unique facial anatomy.
What Can I Achieve With Facial Implants?
Prominent Cheekbones
Full cheeks and high cheekbones are associated with a youthful and beautiful facial aesthetic. Some women are born with flat or underdeveloped cheekbones; other women lose cheek volume and shape as they age. Cheek implants restore midface volume, raise cheek elevation, and create a defined facial appearance by highlighting prominent cheekbones.
Projected Chin
A projected chin creates a balance between the upper and lower regions of the face. Unfortunately, some men and women never develop proper chin projection, and an undefined or receding chin can give off a timid presence. A chin implant adds volume, shape, and projection to the chin, and it creates balanced harmony with other facial features.
Angular Jawline
Angular jawlines are desired by both men and women. They can provide men with chiseled ruggedness and women with smooth and youthful contours. Jaw implants are available in stock implants or customized implants to create stronger jaw definition and more distinct facial contours.
Temple Augmentation
Temple hollowing is a visible sign of aging in both men and women. Temple augmentation with implants permanently restores lost volume to the temple region and returns youthful roundness to the face.
How Are Facial Implants Inserted?
Facial implant surgery is an outpatient surgery, and you can return home shortly after your anesthesia wears off.
This procedure is highly customized, and a consultation with Dr. Diamond is required to discuss your goals, choose your implant, and develop your surgical plan.
You should prepare for this procedure by stopping all tobacco use and avoiding blood-thinning medications like aspirin, NSAIDs, or herbal supplements.
What Are Facial Implants Made Of?
Facial implants are molded out of medical-grade silicone. This thick gel comes in a variety of shapes and sizes and is guaranteed to keep its form while appearing natural. Silicone face implants are FDA approved.
Where Are the Incisions Made?
Cheek, chin, jaw, and temple implants are inserted through incisions made on the inside of the mouth—near the cheek region or in the crease where the lip meets the gum. A small incision (one centimeter) may be made on the underside of the chin to help position chin or jaw implants. Temporal implants are inserted through an incision in the hairline.
Are Facial Implants Right for Me?
Once you have chosen to get facial implants, you will need to decide between a stock and a customized implant. While some patients achieve optimal results with stock implants, these implants are not guaranteed to fit as snugly and come with a higher risk of revision surgery.

Addressing Any Concerns You May Have
How Long Does It Take to Recover From Facial Implants?
Facial implants cause mild to moderate bruising and swelling and a temporary ache in the jaw, cheek, or temple region.
You will be asked to rest and sleep with your head at a 45-degree angle for the first week—this will ensure proper blood flow. You may be restricted to a soft diet for the first week of your recovery and should be fully recovered after two to three weeks.
Will There Be Scars After With My Facial Implants?
Since your face is exposed at all times, you do not want and cannot have visible external scars. Therefore, all incisions are placed in inconspicuous places. Any external scarring will fade over time and can be lessened by staying out of the sun and applying scar creams or silicone strips.
How Much Do Facial Implants Cost?
Plastic surgery is tailored to meet your needs and surgical wishes. The total cost of your facial implants will vary depending on the implant chosen, anesthesia fees, facility fees, surgeon’s fees, pre-surgical tests, and post-surgical dressings.
An in-person consultation is needed with Dr. Diamond so that he can determine the best implant and surgical techniques for you. He is happy to provide your estimated cost after that time.
Are Facial Implants Painful?
Facial implant surgery is performed under local or general anesthesia to promote safety and comfort. The type of anesthesia used will depend on your specific circumstances and personal preference—Dr. Diamond will recommend the right level of sedation for you during your consultation.
While the procedure itself is not painful—thanks to the anesthesia—patients will develop bruising, swelling, and mild discomfort in the week following your surgery. Prescribed or over-the-counter pain medication will alleviate any post-operative pain.

Frequently Asked Questions About Facial Implants
Are facial implants better than non-surgical injectable treatments?
Facial implants and non-surgical dermal fillers add volume to facial regions like the jawline, cheeks, or temples. While dermal fillers do not require surgery or downtime, they are temporary options that will need to be repeated two to three times a year. Facial implants also allow for a more significant enhancement.
How will implants change my face?
Facial implants alter your facial structure. You will notice subtle or dramatic changes to your profile, depending on the size and shape of your chosen implant. Often, these enhancements highlight your surrounding features like your eyes or lips, giving them more prominence.
Even though you will notice an altered facial contour, everyone will still be able to see you—just a more confident you.
Is silicone safe to use in my face?
Facial implants are made from a solid silicone material. While it carries the same name, the silicone used for these implants is vastly different from loose silicone injections or even the silicone implants used in breast augmentation.
And unlike silicone injections, silicone implants are solid. These implants are very safe to use and have little chance of complication.
Some unqualified doctors offer silicone injections as an alternative to implants. These are injected the same way that dermal fillers are; however, they are very dangerous and should never be chosen as a way to augment your facial shape. Loose silicone can become intertwined with the vessels or can enter the bloodstream. If either of these things occurs, it can result in pain, disfigurement, or even death.
Should I combine my facial implants with facelift surgery?
Facial implants address volume loss or create facial contour in places that did not previously have it. While the addition of the implant may help to smooth some fine lines and wrinkles in that specific region—since there is more volume to fill out the area—it does not address deep wrinkles or sagging features anywhere else on the face.
Facelift surgery is commonly performed alongside facial implants to rejuvenate your appearance in addition to reshaping your bone structure. Some patients also choose to follow their facial implant surgery with dermal fillers or BOTOX® Cosmetic to smooth fine lines and wrinkles.
Non-surgical treatments cannot be performed at the same time as your facial implant. An additional treatment session will have to be scheduled for your injectable treatment after the implant has settled, and the bruising and swelling have subsided.

Can a facial implant move?
Facial implants are secured to the bone and tissue using screws and sutures. It is very uncommon for them to move around; however, some shifting is possible. Should any shifting of the implant ever become noticeable, a revision procedure can be performed to reposition the implant and restore facial contour.
Will I feel my implant after it has healed?
Your facial implant will settle into place over a healing period of a few weeks to a few months. These implants will become a part of your facial structure, and after they have settled, it is very uncommon to feel their presence. There will be no pain; instead, they will feel as though they have always been there.
Will my facial implant results be permanent?
Unlike non-surgical treatments, like dermal fillers, facial implants will not degrade over time. Most patients experience a lifetime of improvement after their facial implant surgery.
Implant surgery does not stop the aging process, and the surrounding tissues and fat will weaken and potentially sag over time. Even though the implants will not change, they may gently shift over time along with—and in response to—the weakening of the tissue.
